This was a good week

This week at work went pretty smooth. I am beginning to feel more comfortable in my own skin. I still ask lots of questions, but not near as many as the previous weeks.

Now I hope next week will not be Hell on Earth!;-) Just in case I'm going to really enjoy the rest of my time off. It feels nice being able to once again enjoy hanging out with my husband at Starbucks chit chatting without an exam or the NCLEX looming in the back of my mind. Oh freedom, how sweet it is.

This nurse sums up the new nurses experience very well

Click on the title to read about some of the experiences of a new nurse.

Tomorrow will complete week 2 of me flying solo on the floor by myself. That's rigt now that I had 8 weeks of orientation I should know everything a nurse needs to know/sarcasm. Right now I feel lonely and like a train wreck, but it is going to get better (I hope)!

My nursing license arrived!

I usually don't check the mail much because I normally get mostly junk mail. Since Terrance is away at work I figured I better not let the mail pile up. To my surprise my license was in the mail. It does not look like much, but it means so much to me!

I passed my drug calculation test!

Wow, today was a very long day, but I do have reason to celebrate. I can take the drug calc. test off my plate because I passed it today. This test has to be passed with a 100% in order to be cleared for practice in clinicals. Well, it definitely feels good to have that one down the hatch. I also remembered that I had CPR class today--one more thing to get off of my schedule. The first CPR class that I was scheduled for I forgot about, because I was studying.

Now, I am focusing on the other four things left on my plate for right now. They are:
Health Assessment project
Health Assessment Exam #1
Dimensions Exam #1
Pharmacology Exam #1

Celebration for an accelerated student is very short lived. I have to get back to studying now so I can go to bed soon. I have been up since 5:30AM with 1 meal (bowl of canned Ravioli) all day. My goal is to make it to bed by 12AM!
